    SHOUT OUT!

    Hello KCGG :)

I know this is quite a weird time to post this seeing that election results were revealed quite a few weeks back but I haven't had much time recently (pfft PW). So here it is!

To the graduating batch of leaders:
Belle, Melissa, Abigail, Fei Min, Trina.

I'm very proud of all of you :D I watched you all (except Belle haha) grow from sec one to four and you've all made remarkable progress. I still remember when I handed over to you all one year ago and we were all so nervous about how the term would be. But you all never failed the company (: and for that, I'm really proud of you all! Leaders are never perfect but you tried your best and left your mark and now, it's time for your juniors to take over.

I know you'll miss guides like crazy, but come back often (don't neglect your studies!) and know that you've done your part and your time in this world (of KCGG) has ended - it's sad but life goes on. It'll never really be the same again without guides, but you have your 'O' levels ahead of you and soon you won't have time to think about guides anymore hahahahaha. No la. Be proud that you did your best and contributed to KCGG! :)

    To the new leaders:
    June, Siti, Desirae, Wen Hui.

It's going to be a long one year with a lot ahead and it's not going to be easy (but it's going to be really really short too!) but just know that things won't be as bad as they seem! Trust your instincts and trust each other - you don't want the company (and yourselves) to suffer because you have conflicts. When you feel like you're dying, know that batch after batch of leaders have gone through similar problems and we all survived to tell our story :D and one day, you'll be telling your story too.

Make your mark in KCGG! Learn from the strengths of the previous leaders, and learn from their weaknesses. Be yourself in your leadership, don't be afraid that people don't approve of what you're doing. The greatest thing that you have to live with is your own conscience so make sure you can look at yourself in the mirror everyday. Figuratively speaking, of course.

We can only give you so much advice but ultimately, you'll have to learn as you go along. So good luck!

    To the new Patrol Leaders:
Dhanya, Fitri, Sharifah, Elizabeth, Cindy, Charlene, Pearl, Melody.
    and
    To the new Patrol Seconds:
Xen Mei, Laura, Marissa, Tessa, Kelly, Veena, Rebecca, Syaza.

All of you are new to your role this year! . PL/PS-ship isn't as easy as it looks, and it's nothing like how your CLs will lead. Remember that your role is to lead your patrol, a group of maybe five to seven girls. Don't be too ambitious, but don't ever look down on your capabilities either. Give your members something to aspire towards, but set your own standards right. Some of you may be leading guides older than yourselves, and definitely guides younger than yourselves as well. You'll have to learn how to cope with different personalities as you go along, but you'll have to create your own method of leading - and always keep your patrol close and bonded! That's the whole point of a patrol system, so that every girl feels accepted, welcome, loved. Reach out to those who don't always have somebody to talk to. You're all like mother hens now! :D so good luck! And make us proud.

    To Adrianna, Ellyna, Kah Wieng:

Thank you for your contribution over the last year (or more!) We're letting you step down from leadership now to concentrate on your studies, but know that we still appreciate you and love you three very much :) Your role as Patrol Advisors may seem insignificant because it's not formally recognised but you're very very important to us because you possess something that the new leaders do not have: experience! :)

    To all the other guides:
Victoria, Xue Qi, Yi Ting, Gabrielle, Ellyna, Zhou Quan, Sarah, Nicole, Julianne, Rachel, Peggie, Eileen, Sally, Sasha, Sonali, Kah Wieng, Aishwarya, Charmaine, Leann, Callista, Jayne, Rashika, Shonya, Adrianna, Charisse, Laura Lee, Ming Hui: (in order of patrol!)

Please treat your new leaders with respect. Yes, leaders are always flawed, but that's how the world works isn't it :) Some leaders don't always command respect and you may not agree with how they are leading, but do remember that they are your superiors and you have to treat them with respect. There's a big difference between respecting someone and treating them with respect!

    And for everybody:

Do remain close to your new patrols! They can be your best friends who you turn to for help, or people you barely acknowledge. It's up to you to make the choice! :) Grow and learn as members of KCGG and be proud that you're a part of us :) Use every opportunity given well, and strive for the best in all you do! It's really up to every single one of you to make your journey with us meaningful. Some of your seniors leave loving, missing guides but some are so relieved to leave, and we never see them again. So it's really up to you to make the most out of your 4/5 years in guiding. Guides can be fun if you participate and want to have fun, but it'll be boring if you come with a negative mindset and don't want to try.

Secondary school is really short (believe me!) but it can really be the best time of your life. Treasure it well! If you're not appreciating KC now, you probably will when you leave. KC may not be extraordinary in terms of academics, but you're given so many chances to excel in other areas as well, and you'll leave as a better person :D So in that area, we're in no way inferior to other schools so don't look down on yourselves and be proud to be a KCian! (and yes, if you're one of those who go and make a bad name for our school, :( :( :( you chose to come here okay! It's one of your six choices. KC's trying her best for you so please try your best for her.

Okay! For those who read the whole thing I really salute you.

Good luck for Mid Years (what's left of it!), 'O's/'N's and all other exams!
and good luck in guides as well, and in all you do :D

    I miss you all!

    Love, Mei Qing, (your YA!)
